Substance Abuse Education

Education

The Education program at Harbor Lights is a minimum of 12-weeks.  This program meets once a week and covers a new topic each week. This program is designed for individuals that have never been in outpatient treatment before and/or have limited knowledge of substance abuse.

Individual Sessions will be held between the client and the primary counselor a minimum of once a month.

Group Sessions will be held once a week.

Weekly Education will focus on:

  • Introduction to Addiction
  • Relapse Warning Signs
  • Relapse Triggers
  • Stages of Change
  • Recovery Process
  • Daily Living Skills
  • Family Dynamics
  • Introductions to Self-Help
  • Healthy Coping Skills
  • Healthy Relationships

Aftercare Planning and Implementation:

      • Creating a Relapse Prevention Plan
      • Creating a Discharge Plan

 

 

**All treatment at Harbor Lights is confidential in compliance with Federal Regulations.

**There will be regular urine screening and breathalyzer testing.
